Oswego County Legislator Morris Sorbello, R-Granby, revealed a letter to the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee written by a New York Power Authority (NYPA) chairman about the county’s recent opposition to a wind turbine project proposal which would be based in Lake Ontario.

The letter, initially mentioned during Tuesday’s meeting, was addressed to Sorbello, chairman of the committee, who was concerned about the letter’s wording, which prompted the legislator to issue a written response to the NYPA chairman.

Please be advised that I will do everything within my power to ensure that no NYPA power projects are located in any municipality within Oswego County, New York” wrote Michael J. Townsend, NYPA chairman.

Did you know that NYPA's (attorney) Board Chairman Michael Townsend is also the legal counsel for County Of Monroe Industrial Development Agency?

You know - C.O.M.I.D.A. - the agency that hands out all the tax breaks to developers.
